Bobby Parnell is back with the New York Mets following Tommy John surgery despite subpar performances during his injury rehabilitation stint in the minor leagues. The former closer was activated from the 15-day disabled list Thursday by the Mets, who placed right-hander Dillon Gee on the bereavement list following the death of his grandmother.
