Rubby De La Rosa pitched seven strong innings and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the San Diego Padres 4-2 on Friday night to hand James Shields his first loss of the season. Arizona scored three runs in the third on doubles by David Peralta, Aaron Hill and Welington Castillo to go with Nick Ahmed's single. A fourth run was taken off the scoreboard when Paul Goldschmidt, originally ruled safe on a passed ball and tag play at home plate, was called out after a Padres challenge and replay review.
